Architecture
Architecture, the art and technique of designing and building, as distinguished from the skills associated with construction. The practice of architecture is employed to fulfill both practical and expressive requirements, and thus it serves both utilitarian and aesthetic ends. Although these two ends may be distinguished, they cannot be separated, and the relative weight given to each can vary widely. Because every society—whether highly developed or less so, settled or nomadic—has a spatial relationship to the natural world and to other societies, the structures they produce reveal much about their environment (including climate and weather), history, ceremonies, and artistic sensibility, as well as many aspects of daily life.
Structural design and analysis-interior/exterior
Every object is a structure. Structure is made by connecting various member to make it whole to perform the intended function. Natural structures vary from the very smallest part of an atom to the entire creation of the universe. Man-made structures include buildings, bridges, dams, ships, airplanes, rockets, trains, cars, and even large artistic sculptures. Structural engineers design and access structure to ensure that they are functionally efficient and stable.Structural analysis deals with a calculation of load coming on the members and analyze them whereas, structural design decides the dimension (shape and size) of the structural members on the basis of calculated load from structural analysis.Structural engineers are responsible for both “structural analysis” as well as “structural design”. Both are an important part of civil engineering. So, it is essential that one must have clear understanding of structural analysis and design both the terms. Here we have explained the differences between structural analysis and structural design.
Substructures design and analysis
A systematic treatment of the analysis and design of substructures, dealing with all aspects including soil exploration, laboratory testing, analysis and structural design. The major types of foundations and retaining structures including footings and rafts, piles and wells are described. The first six chapters deal with the engineering properties of soil, principles of soil exploration and limit state design, general design principles of foundations and earth pressures. The next six chapters cover the analysis and design of shallow foundations, pile foundations, bridge substructures, marine substructures, rigid and flexible retaining walls. A chapter is devoted to foundations in expansive soils, and another to the design of foundations of transmission towers, while the final chapter focuses on reinforced earth as a construction material for retaining structures and ground improvement. A large number of illustrative examples and designs have been included in the text. It will be useful to undergraduate and postgraduate students of civil engineering, and to practicing engineers.
Fire prevention analysis
Spreading fire does not only endanger plant safety and integrity but also plant personnel. The availability of the NPP as well as the functionality of critical protection systems need to be demonstrated during all plant states. The NPP must be able to achieve a safe shutdown in the event of fires caused by internal or external events. Our Fire Protection Concepts, Analysis and Systems reduce fire risks, and essentially support plant safety. We provide fire protection measures, customized to clients’ needs in terms of safety and costs.
- Advanced simulations enable the analyses of potential fires, their probably spread and the damage it might cause. Thus, customized fire protection measures can be derived.
- Fire compartments and those protective system components such as closing elements confine fire within a dedicated area.
- Cable tray encapsulations warrant the operability of safety circuits.
- Detection systems detect initial state fires and activate further protection systems limiting the damage.
- Fire extinguishing systems (gas and water) essentially reduce fire spreading and in most cases extinguish fires totally.
Building electro mechanical design
Mechanical engineers often overlook important electrical issues when specifying their respective parts of an electro mechanical system. This targeted advice will help you design your next electro mechanical system.
Mechatronic systems are the state-of-the-art technology in automation systems, intelligently integrating mechanical and electrical elements to perform increasingly complex and demanding functions. When designing electromechanical systems, mechanical engineers and electrical engineers may tend to emphasize the technologies, components and design principles from their single area of expertise—which can lead to systems with higher operating costs, increased maintenance demands and less than optimal performance. Electrical engineers involved in helping design and build mechatronic systems often see how inefficiencies and unnecessary complexity can be unintentionally designed into machines. Better mechatronic systems can be created when mechanical engineers consider five crucial concepts when designing manufacturing systems, to derive the greatest value and efficiency electronics systems can offer to the manufacturing process.

Landscape design
Create the outline. A landscape plan begins with a broad overview of the project area. This is your basic outline to which you can slowly add elements. Decide on the area to be depicted in the diagram. This may be difficult due to the open nature of an outside area, but the landscape design should illustrate only the area that is subject to the landscaping. Begin by drawing boundaries of the area. It might be the edge of a garden, the end of the yard, a fence, or any other area beyond which the landscape plan is no longer pertinent.
Add new landscape design elements. Add plant life such as shrubbery, trees, and flowers and draw in walkways and stairs. Add any lawn furniture, pools, sheds, gazebos, buildings, and fountains that you plan to install.
Building structural safety inspection and detail assessment
A structural assessment is a procedure utilized to check the adequacy, structural integrity and soundness of structures and their components. An assessment is made to evaluate a structures current and future use and conformance to current building codes. All buildings and structures require periodical inspection to ensure structural safety, strength and stability under normal/actual loads as well as reducing the possibility of disproportionate collapse under unanticipated or accidental loads. The consequences of having insufficient structural integrity can be a danger to public safety – meaning the building may not be able to support the loads that it was designed for. ACUMEN’s evaluation process involves visual observations of structural members such as columns, beams, joists, load bearing walls, slabs, roof decking, foundations, and connections for any signs of structural deficiencies such as cracks, excessive movements, bowing, deflections, differential settlements, including any evidence of distress and material deterioration. Our Professional Engineers assess the structural elements ensuring that they will continue to safely perform their intended function.

Quantities and cost estimation
Cost estimation of a project is the process of forecasting the probable cost for the due fulfillment of the project objectives, to the prescribed workmanship covered by specifications for various items of works and to the stipulated time schedule. For a given project fully described by drawings and specifications, estimating involves quantity take off for various items of work, rate analysis and costing. The quantity aspect is governed by the study and analysis of drawings which are prepared with respect to the design of the project. The quantity aspect covers the quantum of works involved in and estimation of the materials and labors required for construction. The quality aspect is governed by the specifications for the materials and workmanship. These two aspects lead to an estimate for a work or a project. Thus an estimate is a tool for planning and controlling the construction activities of any project with regard to quality, quantity, time and costs.
Supervision
The builder shall ensure that the building is designed and constructed in accordance with building regulations and the permit granted for the project. As required by the project, the builder shall possess adequate resources to implement the project and employ competent staff.
Construction work requiring a permit shall be managed by a site supervisor.
In addition to inspections carried out in the course of the work, the quality control of construction and renovations includes ensuring that the construction materials used fulfil the quality standards set by authorities.
Buildings shall always fulfil health, safety and usability requirements. Owners are responsible for monitoring the condition of buildings as well as for maintenance and repairs as necessary.
The site supervisor books a time with them for the project commencement meeting and inspections carried out by the department.
Construction management
construction management is ‘a service that implements specialized, project management methods to manage the design, construction and the planning of a project, from its start to its end‘. The project management process in construction can be extremely perplexed but its main core is always the same. The coordination, planning, and completion of a project regardless of its type (e.g. commercial, residential, industrial, agricultural, heavy civil). Solid construction management requires good real-time communication between the various project stakeholders. What makes construction management so challenging is the need for a thorough knowledge of a vast number of areas such as budgeting, business, law, and mediation. At the end of the day, though, the only thing that matters is the delivery of a successful construction project to the client.
Soil Test
Soil which is responsible for allowing the stresses coming from the structure should be well tested to give excellent performance. If soil shouldn’t tested correctly then the whole building or structure is damaged or collapsed or leaned like leaning tower of Pisa. So, soil inspection or testing is the first step to proceed any construction
Surveying
Surveying has been an essential element in the development of the human environment for so many centuries that its importance is often forgotten. It is an imperative requirement in the planning and execution of nearly every form of construction. Surveying was essential at the dawn of history, and some of the most significant scientific discoveries could never have been implemented were it not for the contribution of surveying. Its principal modern uses are in the fields of transportation, building, apportionment of land, and communications.
DPP Preparation
A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents. Tender Document Preparation and evaluation
Good preparation and planning are key elements of conducting an effective and efficient tender process and project delivery. Think about tender planning as an activity directed at an outcome, rather than just completing a template. The way the Directions and Instructions are applied is intended to be scalable, recognising the risk profile, nature and complexity of the procurement. Consistent with the principle of scalability, the level of detail and extent of documentation should match the risk and complexity of the procurement. This Guidance outlines key content that should be addressed and documented as part of tender planning and preparation. This will guide the tender process from tender development to contract award and also applies to project delivery and contract management.
